The very hungry caterpillar

1st graders are working on " The very hungry caterpilar" book.

They learned about food, days of the week, stages of a caterpillar life from caterpillar to butterfly.

They are decorating the  butterfly using play- dough and crayons.

Jorge, Irene and Édgar are deciding which food the caterpillar eats during the different days of the week.

We´ve created a very special caterpillar in the Art class. 

The students made circles using a plastic glass and paint, then they filled them with little pieces of colour papers.

Learning & playing with CLOTHES

FIRST GRADE

1st graders, Uxía and David, are talking about CLOTHES, because we're preparing English theatre play
 " The Emperor' s new suit".

She's telling him what clothes to put on the doll. David has to understand and get dressed the doll.

They're working in pairs practizing words related to "clothes". Hat, jumper, boots, shorts, umbrella...

They are in threes learning clothes vocabulary. The kids learn and enjoy playing with the paper clothes and doll they´ve already cut up.

Carnival

GETTING READY FOR CARNIVAL 2014

From 3rd grade to 6th grade, children are experiencing pasting  news paper little pieces and glue mixed up with water, in order to cover around an inflated balloom. 

Second cycle is doing ORANGES and the third cycle, BERRIES. This is a very tough work we are doing in different sesions, it takes a long time.

Let's see if at the end we can get a wonderful result.

Kids love working in the Art class, they behave themselves, at the same time, they learn, relax and enjoy. 

Art activities are great for their motor skills. They should be carefull to get their best.

They are doing ok, they have to be clean trying to not get everything dirty.

After one sesion with each group, we already have all the ballooms hunging up...

 Last steps of the process. We had to put white paper on the newspaper, because black part came out and we need painting in orange.

The kids love doing and experiencing all this long process.

                  We enjoyed this Valentine's song with the youngest kids.

The oldest ones  sang Adele's song "Someone like you" during the Art class in Valentine's day.

The third cycle children sang Adele's song "Someone like you". They really enjoyed and liked this song. We could finally uploaded a video in which they sing and work on their  Carnival art projects at the same time, in the Art classroom.
