We love Olivia’s reading in the library, every Thursday during third graders’ reading session.

Third graders are listening to Olivia reading COMMOTION IN THE OCEAN and they’re participating in the questions about sea animals, colours, sizes and different informations that come from the images and content.

The fourth grade students reading sessions are always at the library. Every Tuesday, we listen to different stories from library interesting books related to different topics.

   This lovely book is available at the school library.

You  can also go to the school library during recess time,  and have a great time through the English class blog, englishnart4fun.blogspot.com. As Erik does, listening the very famous song BABY SHARK.

Olivia is already with us at school.

She’s American. She’s from Alabama.

Olivia is talking about her home, state, family, hobbies, etc. She’s showing us the USA map and explaining characteristics and interesting things about  the different places where she has lived.




She’s an artist, she used to write books, draw lovely paintings, take professional photos and enjoy participating in special activities, like movies, Art collaborations, ...

Mixing colours is fun, try it!!

If you’ve learned how to mix up colours, now you can put it into practice.

Steps for colouring shells:

1. When you go to the beach, pick up some shells. 

2. At home, wash them and let them dry.

3. You need water colours, a piece of kitchen paper and a glass of clean water

4. Any day, if you feel  bored but ready for Art, get all your shells and the rest of material and enjoy the magic of  painting...

You can prepare a collection of painted shells for home, for your friends or family as a present or just for having fun.

Saying Goodbye to Maureen

                                                                          Maureen is talking about interesting places and people 
                                                                                       from her country.

She’s our 7th conversation assistant in Tirán. 

We are very happy to have the chance of sharing our school activities and everyday situations at school with so nice foreign people who give us a little of their culture, language, lives and a piece of their heart.

We also give them ours.

3rd graders students are reading short texts from the map and listening to Maureen’s explanations.

Also 6th graders were talking to her and participating in the readings and explanations about USA traditions, important places and famous people, sports, food, etc.

5th graders listening carefully and participating in the readings and videos.

                       Finally, we gave Maureen a small celebration in the school main hall...

Xiana & Mateo gave Maureen two meaningful presents for the school. A small “Curuxa”(owl) and a lovely handmade book made with all the pictures that the school students drew for Maureen.

Kindergarten 3 & 4

This is the beginning of our class in 

kindergarten 3 & 4.

“Line up, line up, line Up!. 1, 2, 3 stamp your feet!”.

Working on the topic The Very Hungry Caterpillar about food. The kids acted out the story with cards standing up and going  next to the appropiate day of the week,  according to the story read by Maureen.
After, they can colour and cut out the pieces of the story to recreate it again on a different paper.

We were working on The very Hungry Caterpillar book. 

We’re learning vocabulary through a Memory Game.

They have to find the pair.

The kids are very relaxed in the English class, they feel comfortable.

We are going to enjoy a lot with our new project based on the classical 

THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR.

We´ll start with the reading of the book.

After working with the book and some crafts, we´ll learn about the Butterfly Life Cycle .

We have a special song for the kids.

Related to the topic about the caterpillar changing into butterfly, we made a very interesting project. 

We explained Symmetry and the kids were colouring a butterfly following some specific directions.

First: we have folded the butterfly paper exactly by the middle.

Then: the kids have coloured by means of their fingers and paint only half of the butterfly.

Finally, we have folded it  back to see how the paint coloured exactly the other part of the butterfly.

Wonderful & surprising project for the kindergarden 5 students.

To complete the topic about Food  based on “The very Hungry Caterpillar” , the kids freely are doing their own composition in a colour paper. 

Coloured salt box

You can use a Coloured Salt Box to practice vocabulary, spelling, as a guessing game, etc into groups, pairs or individually.

These are 3rd graders writing vocabulary related to food into small groups. That was surprising and funny for them.

They were practicing orally short food dialogues and after that,  they rewiewed spelling through this original way.

Hooray for fish

The Art workshop in kindergarden 5  is linked to the English class, so during the What’s your favorite pet? topic, we wanted to create a funny fish by means of paper rolls for the water and water colours for the colourful fish.

The colour psper rolls work was a little tiring for the kids, so after 3 classes pasting paper, they loved using the water colours.



Some of the projects will go home unfinished, but they’re amazing works for them and their families.
