Enjoying The UK

In the second term, we are learning about the UK, the United Kingdom of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Some of the very well known landmarks are:

The Tube(underground), the Big Ben, the modern City, London Eye, Westminster Palace, London Tower or Tower Bridge…

Tower Bridge.

Westminster and Big Ben.

The London Eye.

The little ones learn through “Peppa Pig in London” with her Majesty, the Queen driving a double decker bus.

Asif helps us in the class.

Asif is showing the kids the famous RED double decker BUS.

We’re teaching them some well known FOOD.

Fish & chips, Apple pie or a cup of Tea.

England flag and map are important for kindergarten 4.

The RIVER Thames.

Some very famous monuments, Stonehenge.

Magic stones appeared in the witches’ city of Salisbury.

American Pen Pal

This year, we’re going to send some wonderful pictures from Moaña (Galicia) in Spain to Winona (Minnesota) in USA, where we have some good friends.

First grade students are going to send pictures, took by their families, and they’ll receive pictures from American students from USA.

We’re doing a work at class, after having the pictures.

Students are writing simple texts about their photos.

The teacher prepares some short texts in English that the students copy.

They did a great job!!!.

Asif helped us during the English class, we´re very lucky!!!. Thanks Asif!.

So, the whole school is enjoying the lovely pictures and everybody can read the simple first grade texts.

Finally, we received our American friends’ works.

Our students were choosing their favorite project to take home.

They went back to their class very happy with their new friend’s paper in their hands. They’ll show them to their families and friends and take them back to school.

Cultures Around the World

For this second term, we’re going to work on Cultures Around the World.

Every group of the school chose a different culture to create their costume for the coming Carnival. So, in the English class, we’ll find out information about different countries, continents and their cultures.

Asif is telling the students that depending on the country, they will have different weather, food, traditions, clothes, etc. and even, when we’re different, we also have some similarities.
