MAGIC ON MY MIND

Nowadays children have lost their ability to imagine or think about magic.
Our school kids are lucky because we have The Owl Mile. They can run, walk and enjoy nature, every single day during 15 minutes, through a  forest near school.

According to this possibility, the Art teacher asked the kids to imagine all kind of MAGICAL BEINGS while they were listening to a very special music.

       Music in the forest.

Centaurus, unicorns and magic butterflies through the forest.

Fairies throwing their magic all over.

ZENTANGLE ART

ZENTANGLE ART

The Zentangle art increases focus and creativity, provides artistic satisfaction with an increased sense of personal well being.
The Zentangle art is enjoyed all over the world across a wide range of skills, interests and ages.

The process of creating a Zentangle is a form of “artistic meditation” as one is  completely focused in making each pattern.

The creativity options and pattern combinations are endless.
Zentangles are miniature pieces of unplanned, abstract, black and white art created through a very specific method by means of patterns called tangles

Zentangles are not only exquisitely beautiful
they are fun and relaxing to create.

The first important step in the ceremony of Zentangle is to relax and breathe deeply, bringing one’s attention to the process.
-.-

These are the first patterns learned by the Art teacher in a Zentangle private lesson.
They are very easy and relaxing.

This is the first project done by our students for a Peace Day poster laid in the main hall of the school.

The process is very simple and repetitive.
Through the repetition of the same learned pattern, your mind can desconect and relax.

The teacher helps to create the whole picture
and the students trace, complete and finally, colour it.

    At the classroom

During the Art class, in a very quiet atmosphere, the Art teacher explains in detail the patterns
and the way how to do them.

The students, from 1st to 6th grade, really enjoy the process and, of course, the results.

In all the groups, the teacher can observe  perfectly
the attention, carefulness, fine motor and neatness in order to analyze their fine skills and possible attention problems.

During an Art Class, the students can apply any pattern to a given design, like these photocopies with the peace symbol.

Even when the Zentangle method recommends small paper,
 at school,
we use the material that we already have,
such as markers, crayons, pencils, plain paper...

 Zentangle and the colour.

COLOUR
can be applied with different techniques that pupils are going to learn.

Sixth graders are very careful and great enjoyers.

Explanation  for the kids to learn on the white board .

New patterns are explained to all the groups, and in all of them we have amazing artists.
They aren't afraid of doing wrong,
everything is correct because the quiet way to get the result is the main aim.

All the projects can be used to decorate
the school main hall
for any celebration.

Here there are different creations with Zentangle patterns by means of crayon & oil technique for colouring.

The possibilities are endless.
You can trace your own hand and decorate it by means of lovely Zentangle techniques.

RELAXATION IS THE MOST IMPORTANT  objective we get through  ZENTANGLE.

Here is an example of our awesome artists at school.

Really COOL!! Done by an 8 year old girl.

New more complicated, but not difficult, projects made by a group of teachers. The cool thing was that you start your own design and you have to pass it to your partner to be compleated by two or three different people.

Daniel, Telma and Pedro from 3rd grade are doing really amazing Zentangle projects.
WELL DONE, kids!!!

Our last contribution to yogawithoutborders.ong was a Zentangle workshop in Kundalini Yoga Centre in Domaio. The money that we donated went to this Canadian ONG that works with women around the world helping them.

We enjoyed a lot and were happy for helping with our small contribution.
